Post subject:  jimny highway tyres
Evening all, just wondering if Jimny owners would care to comment on the best highway tyres , are the original Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684,
205 70 15 fitted to a 2012 model the best ones to stick with or is there something equally as good or better. Thank you.

In my opinion it just comes down to brand loyalty... so long as you pick a reputable brand in road tyre, you're likely to never notice a difference in something like a jimny.

Personally i'd be looking into Kumhos... they're mid-range in price and from experience running their road tyres on a mazda and their muddies on my sierra, they make a great tyre at a very affordable price.

I have Bridgestone D697 A/Ts. They drive much better than the Kuhmo KL78 H/Ts that were on there, especially on unsealed roads. They've done about 40'000kms and still have 70% tread, by contrast the Kuhmos went from 50% to bugger all in 6000kms. To me there's no downside to running the A/T, they're smooth and silent. They might use a little more fuel, I didn't keep track of fuel consumption when I put them on but I didn't notice any difference.

They were one of the more expensive tyres in a 205/70r15 but they're going to well and truly pay for themselves with their exceptional life.

This X10. Find a tire with the lightest load rating you can find, that's pretty much the only thing you need to worry about.

Yeah, my Kuhmos chipped badly on the gravel.

To be fair, the Maxxis A/Ts (3 sets of if 700s and a set of 980s) on the farm cars have chipped and worn exceptionally fast too.

Check this out for chipping. I was running MTRs but got sick of staking the side walls so changed to dueler MTs and they have all done this within 2000km. Might try KM2s next

I rate my General Grabber SRLs over my KM2's - they're heavy, but damn theyre grippy and hard wearing!

I'm planning to get General Grabber AT2 s for the Triton as my next set of tires.
