Has anyone replaced jimny front hub bearing with opposing tapered roller bearings as I bought a replacement kit when I opened kit the bearing was not ball bearing like standard but tapered roller pin bearing. The problem I have is bearing box had already been open greasy prints over the lid I asked where I bought them he thought I didn't know rollers when I saw them hard to miss look like king pin bearings type but 2 rows apposing same size. thanks again |

2 tapered roller bearings is the normal for a front wheel bearing. The Jimny uses a 3 piece unit, outer race and 2 inner races complete with rollers. |

Well I looked in the workshop manual and it shows ball bearings, but when checking photos of the hub bearing most show tapered roller type. Maybe it just depends on the bearing manufacturer. |

Sounds like they sold you sierra ones. Jimny use a cassette, which i think its the same as vitara. |

The tapered bearing prob won't like being done up to the torque that is in the jimny fsm. I don't know this for sure but I have never seen a tapered bearing done up to 220flb |

Just a bit of info put together. The cartridge ball type is standard Suzuki Jimny fitment. Many of the aftermarket bearing suppliers show this bearing as a taper roller cartridge. This is standard Suzuki Vitara fitment, I would think this would work fine in the Jimny

Thanks for info but has anyone used them and what torque did you do them up to , I think they are designed to bottom out with correct clearances. What type of grease do you use for cv and pivot bearings moly or blue sticky type grease |
