Okay so the new LWB I got is a SJ 40 with the 1L steel dash
I have to do a dash conversion on this car as the engineer will not compliant a metal dash.
The dash that came with the car as a spare is a WT import turbo dash with the wiring loom for the turbo motor.
As much as I do dislike this dashboard and the style I will be putting this dash in as it is the most feasible dash to put in aftermarket gauges in the centre and doesn't look out of place I will try to take as many pictures as possible on my way When doing this.

has anyone ever done I steel dash conversion before?

Has anyone got any pictures of the under dash Leaf catcher containen as the one in the car it's for an air conditioning unit and wondering do I need to remove it? Sorry do not know its name

It can be done i done it about 12 years ago while fitting my 660 in my 410 don't have pics but remove plastic dash and as much of the steal one and cut the steel one out but leave the soft top tabs and the plastic one will bolt up there may have to make the center dash mount at the windscreen

I don't know what you mean by this?
I take it it used to WT air box

on the sides there is two bolts on a soft top it has a over centric clip that holds the windscreen on the wt dash will bolt to that mount in the centre top of the dash it will need a mount made as the steel one does not have one as it is rigid

The windscreens off the car at the present momentI kinda got a picture of what you're talking about in my head this is the information I needed thing you don't think about
