Today I was disconnecting everything from the 1.3L G13BA in my Sierra (I'm starting a coil pack Baleno conversion). So far all the fasteners have come off cleanly, including the exhaust fasteners .I got the driver side flywheel cover bolt off, but the passenger side bolt rounded off unexpectedly I cut a slot into the bolt head with a dremel wheel and have been striking the slot at an angle with a flathead driver and a hammer. This method has worked for me before, but so far it hasn't turned at all. The rear of the thread hole is visible so I sprayed a bit of trans. fluid/acetone mix in there, but it still hasn't loosened. Any suggestions on how to get it out? Image below. |

Vicegrips on the head. It's generally a one shot deal so make sure the vicegrips are sharp and they go on very tight. Should move a bolt that's only 6mm. |

Tried the vise grips with no luck. I'll try to borrow a welder next |

Filed down the sides of the bolt head and managed to get a much better grip on it with the vise grips. Bolt now removed.
