Just wondering what everyone else's Jimny's were costing them?

usually 400km a tank then the light comes on and I get about another 50km

mixed bewteen BP 95 and 98, only 98 on my rich weeks ha ha ha

and im on 235's

I had been regularly getting around 9.5L/100km from my 2009 VVT Jimny fully loaded for outback travel. Went into the Vic high country last month and got 13 L/100km. I think that was my inexperience, spending too much time in first low range. Was not heavily loaded on that trip. Would be interested to see what others get offroad in mountainous terrain. I use 98 RON and have 215 MT tyres.

Haha, do a quick search mate, fair bit of dribble in the last thread I thought, but with stock tyres I get 400kms to a tank.

Sorry :S was on the tablet and it has a siezure doing to much searching at once. I've read that you can expect anywhere from 7.5-9L/100km from a stock one?

I am very keen to get a zook and I was just checking to see what the fuel economy was like as I currently spend about $100 a week driving around in a Forester. Would you say 7.5-9L/100km would be a reasonable assumption as to what I should expect?

jimnys are nowhere near as cheep to run as I had read.
apparently in stock there ok but as soon as you add lift and tires it smashes it.

Stock i would get 450km-500kms to a tank. 31's, with gearing and big lift, about 250-330 to a tank.

Last night Smiffkid got 50km's to 20L

As soon as you change any thing from stock, your fuel economy turn's to shit

Expect 8-12L. Don't expect it to use no fuel at all, and auto's generally use more then manual's.

try getting your injectors professionally cleaned guys. did it to mine and seems to have made a difference. took em to a diesel injector place as there werent any petrol ones locally. but they said it didnt matter.

my map sensor line has a filter thing in it. gave that a clean with some carbi clean and blew it out, i think thats given me a bit of better fuel econ + more power

X3 Even with 235's the economy sux. My 1981 323 gets much better economy than my 2010 Jimny.

Ratshite economy for a small car - 2010 M15A manual, free wheel hubs, 3"lift, 215/75R15 tyres
Mine is using 11+ l/100k so if I get 300km before the low fuel light comes on I'm doing well. Admittedly I drive up and down a mountain to go anywhere but that means lowish speeds not 110km/hr everywhere.
No codes showing, free flow exhaust, (extractors soon). Oxygen sensor tests ok, output is fluctuating wildly (OBD2 and Torque app) but I'm told that is how it works.
I might get the injectors cleaned - mine are grey (200cc) but I have orange in the spares (also 200cc). Not sure what the difference is if both 200cc.

After that I give up!

My 2010 model gets 7-8 l/ 100 k but I try to drive it about 90 k/hr. Our roads are hilly here so it does chew it if you put the foot down. I just read the caravan and motorhome magazine on fuel economy and while they are mainly diesels the evidence they tested two lots of identical vehicles and the results show drive at 80 for fuel economy (sometimes life's too short), larger tyres increase fuel use as does the weight of your vehicle. Surprisingly a snorkel will save a bit of fuel because the air is cleaner and cooler. Any load on the roof costs and check tyre pressures a lot more regularly than me and service regularly. Surprise, surprise diesels use less than petrols. They quote a lot of scenarios such as aerodynamic aids work and weight of vans increase fuel use.

One of the biggest factors for killing jimny economy is lift. The jimny is pushing shit uphill already aerodynamicly so as soon as you add a lift things really turn to crap.
