Guys, i want to register my car and it needs a blue slip first. Pretty much everything has been returned to standard or within legal upper limits except for bumper bars, rock sliders.
Am i better off getting engineers certificates for anything in doubt up front, or take the risk of being rejected for a blue slip.
Getting pink slips is much easier than blue slips hence my question.
Would i still run into issues with blue slip with an engineers certificate?

Would i still run into issues with blue slip with an engineers certificate? Engineer is for mods, You can still fail a blueslip if wipers arent working, depends on if engineer checks it, otherwise they should do the blueslip too
Mine went from an unregistered rust bucket- engineered- Then blueslip = Rego

How did you go? Pass?
Blue slip is more stringent, there are no myths around this, its fact. Should be okay with metal work on the car. As long as its commercial looking, not homemade, or so much of it that it looks like it could be pushing the GVM with passengers.
Rosk areas are lifts exceeding 50mm with tyres exceeding 50mm, (75mm total ride height change). LED indicators or Headlamps or non standard mirrors, seats or steering wheels or roll bars.
On a safety cert (pink slip) they wont care, for Blue slip they most certainly will.

I'm not 100% familiar with NSW but if they are following the NCOP for mods, which I think they are, squibby is correct on the lift 75mm total including tyres, suspension and bodylift for non-engineered modification, anything above requires engineering approval, up to maximum 50mm diameter tyre increase (previously this was more), 50mm maximum body lift, suspension I am unsure of.
Safety cert or Blue slip will still pick up indicators not functioning correctly, be that rapid flash due to LED or not. Headlamps need to be ADR approved, should be picked up in either inspection as would seats and steering wheel.
Bar work regardless of store bought or homemade need to comply with certain regulations around radius and width of leading edges, if the home made stuff has the correct requirements no dramas.
