Suziworld has sent my GTI wiring loom up to QLD to get done, was told it would cost about $600 and take 2-3 weeks, going on the 7th week now, call Mick from SuziWorld, I don't think his to happy with the service as well |

Iv got everything hooked up the injectors are playing dirty theres no injector pulse she'll fire for 3 seconds then cut out |

Let's look at that last statement closely - there's no injector pulse, she'll fire for 3 seconds then cut out - what does that mean - that you get an injector pulse for three seconds? Going from memory, if there is no ignition feedback, the ECU shuts the injection down to prevent flooding - injection feedback is provided by a noise filter near the igniter - is that hooked up? |

Yeah there's a pulse for 3 seconds then cuts out yeah noise filter is hooked up |

Do you have the CEL hooked up? Insert the diagnostic jumper and crank the engine and then count the flashes before switching the ignition off - if you get a 41 that would indicate that the ECU is not seeing the ignition feedback from the noise filter. |

Still no go! I'm still thinking injector pulse would it be worth pulling the injectors?? |

How did you hook up the noise filter? Did you splice into the original? |

Yes spliced into original. But not sure if iv Done the right wire which one does it tap into? |

greavesyzook wrote: Still no go! I'm still thinking injector pulse would it be worth pulling the injectors?? Why? What difference would pulling the injectors make? The injector pulse is how the ECU controls the injectors, if there is no pulse, the injectors won't open, and no fuel will be injected. What you need to do is find why there is no injector pulse, and if you have spark but no injector pulse, it will almost always be because the ECU is cutting the injection, I've already given you the most common reason, and the way to test for it - if you have a code 41, it'll be because the ECU is not seeing the ignition, if there is no code (code 12), then the possibilities are a defective ECU or a damaged harness between the ECU and the injectors. |

Soooo ... a - how is the fuel getting into the chambers if there is no injection pulse? b - why do you say there is no injection pulse? c - have you tried running it on starter fluid? d - have you verified the ignition timing and firing sequence? As far as I'm aware the GTi runs a "batch fire" injection system - all four injectors fire simultaneously, so if it's fuelling and won't start, it's more likely to be a spark issue (because the spark timing/sequence is critical), |

Can't remember which wire to splice into, it's not the black ground wire which I think is in the centre IIRC. Which one have you got it spliced to atm? EDIT: Hard to read wiring diagrams on the internet but looks like Brown wire from Swift ecu pin A12 should be spliced into Brown wire (not br/w) coming out of noise filter. |

You do have the ignition leads hooked up the right way? As in 1-3-4-2? |

Yep that's all right with new leads and new spark plugs |

So you've verified that you have spark? And you've put a multimeter on the injector plugs to verify they're firing? When you say 'it fires for 3 seconds' is the car actually starting and then cutting out or is it just the injectors running for 3 seconds? Are you running the angle drive dissy or maza cap? |

Yeah got spark. It kicks over like all the injectors are doing there job then just stops got the angle drive dizzy |

Still not that clear... When it starts is it running smooth like you have all 4 cylinders firing? Or is it coughing and spluttering then dying? If you have spark and fuel then I think it can only be; -No feedback to ECU -Timing out i.e leads on wrong cylinders, timing belt installed wrong, crank keyway sheared |

Coughing and spultering then dying. Iv found a Problem with the rota button which wouldn't be helping. I didn't install the dizzy so never noticed it before |

Sounds like you're getting closer then. May only be running on 2 cylinders so I'd be checking spark and fuel on each cylinder and also checking for blocked injectors if the rota button doesn't fix it |

Sounds to me like fuel pump. If they sit around for a while they are garbage. Does it have a new pump in it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
