Post subject:  Radio asking for Operating System
Hi,
I bought a 2011 Jimny a few months ago and have a bit of a funny problem.
When you start the engine, the (female) radio will say "Operating System (Please)" Where the please part is said in French.
It does it whether the radio is on or off. It's no big deal but it's rather annoying.
I have looked everywhere - Internet, owners manual, forums and I can't find out how to turn this off.
I have disconnected the battery and left it disconnected for several days when I was working on the Jimny, but she just came back and insists on asking :-(
It doesn't seem to have any effect on the radio otherwise though.
Any thoughts ?

Take it to a suzi dealer? Otherwise fit a new radio or you could disconnect the speakers for a few seconds on startup using a relay to hide the problem.

Is that the standard jimny one? If so I would bin it and fit something else.

Yep, it's a Clarion Radio/Cd player.
