Hi All,

I've recently wrecked my rear diff, originally I though it was a driveshaft or axle, checked my driveshafts, no issues there, pulled my axles out, no issues there.... Drained my rear diff oil and first thing I heard was metal clinking in the bucket.... Turns out half of my pignon wheel has been sheared off and my crown wheel has been scratched up.

One of my mates has a Suzuki Jimny Manual "99 wreck. I was wondering if the 99 Diff would be compatible with the 4:3 Ratio Rear Diff from the 2010 diff, I've read that compatible diffs need to be 2005-present manual VVT, although I was talking to another person and they said the "99 diffi should be compatible, please help!

Thanks in Advance!

Welcome to the forum!

A 99 will be 4.1 ratio. In Australia it's only VVT/2005 onwards manuals that have the 4.3 ratio you need. All others are 4.1.

Aside from the ratio they're interchangeable so you could swap the front and rear 4.1 centres into your car. That would make it quite sluggish, the speedo wrong ect though.
