I was putting the rear leaf springs back into the zook today and had to add the lower leaf back in. I was going to leave this out but i'm not going to get a chance to put the track bar on yet so i want to give the springs some chance of surviving. Anyway, I thought while I had them apart I would clean them up with a wire brush, and once I had done that I thought some anti seize grease might help them slip a bit. Grease is probably going to attract dirt so isn't the best idea in hindsight. I was wondering if anyone else had tried doing this before? |

I wouldn't put grease on leaves because, as you said, grease will trap dirt and be abrasive..... However Rolls Royce leaf springs are heavily greased and then have leather sewn around them, thus they are lubed and sealed. |

You could just get some slipper pads for in between them. or use some sort of shim sheeting like brass so they don't have steel on steel contact. The grease will help them slip and stop noise UNTIL they get too full of dirt |
