Was the Mazda 2.0 RF engine Vitara a common model in Australia? If so does anyone know the input spline count for the transfer box with the manual gearbox? also was the speedo cable or electronic pick up?

There's a guy over here in the UK with an imported one and he's after a transfer box for it. I have various different Vitara transfer boxes but I'm not sure which one will bolt up to his gearbox.

Hi Scottie,
Unfortunately, Australia didn't get a Diesel Suzuki anything, until the current JB / JT Grand Vitara with the 1.9litre Renault sourced engine.
There are a few overseas auszookers (like you!) who may have direct experience of the earlier versions - I think they were available in NZ?.

Interchangeability does not look good - but - if you can get the VIN for the diesel Vitara I might be able to research it a little further.

Once I have that I can pull up parts listings and see which cases use the same part number input shaft.

Ah I think I misread the vitara wiki.

That would be awesome Fordem. I have asked for the VIN number.
