Hi all,

Though id try here s im not having luck elsewhere. Where do these hoses go to ? Does this cut hose go to the brake booster?

yup first hose is booster,and the second hose is fed from the thermostat housing runs through the idle up unit and down to the pipe at the back of the waterpump...if can help wth anything else let me know as i have done this conversion :lol: except mne is turbo :wink:

Is that a Mk.1 GTi motor?

Mine has the same idle control thingy.

Its apparently a Mk3 motor.

That pulsr site has crashed so there are no good pics anywhere anymore

Thats funny. I was trying that site for the last few days and couldnt get it to work.

He mentions to block one of the pipes from behind the water pump and so did chinny in his build up. I used the pipe they blocked off to run the inlet manifold hose im pointing to in the picture.

Wonder what chinny did with that hose as his was a Mk3 motor?

The one on the pulsr website has a different inlet manifold being a Mk1.

To keep the tech going the little green outlets have been pointed out to be on another forum as the egr valve, that little red/brown thing with 2 hose barbs on it. One goes to the charcoal canister, the other to your inlet manifold.

Do i need to hook these up for an unregoed vehicle? Where do they go exactly?

Any side effects of not having them hooked up?

I am pretty sure the EGR one doesn't go to the charcoal canister. If it is for EGR then it will activate a valve that circulates exhaust gas into the inlet (EGR = exhaust gas recirculation). The one that connects to the charcoal canister purges fuel vaour from there into the inlet manifold.

For an unregistered vehicle you don't really need to worry about them.
