So, I'll run down the info

- car wont idle nice unless timing is set on 8deg
- the idle up for lights/demisters puts it at 2,500rpm
- valves are adjusted to middle of specs
- car was running fine, drove through a puddle, died, adjusted valves and timing, let it sit for a few days ran fine for a few mins then started with the lumpy idle (misses on 3 we think), since then has been so much fiddling with everything and its been off and on
- car does run fine above 2000rpm, even once off idle it runs fine however is a teeny tiny bit 'rough' (you can just feel the vibration)

Is it worth just taking it to a mechanic? It's needed a carby rebuild from day dot, should we just rebuild it? It has a new ebay dizzy (the old dizzy crapped out when a lead was pulled off) should we try a OEM dizzy and/or get a new coil?
Or just screw it all and G16A swap it lol? (I'd prefer G16B but it's my mothers car and she prefers carb)

Cheers

Need to pull the carby apart and clean it paying special attention to the idle circuit. Actually might pat to make sure you can hear a clicking sound from the carby when turning the ignition on and off

Cheers Shep.
Think I have a spare carby in the shed so I might even rebuild that then I can just whack it on rather than have the ol girl outta action
