these are completely shot. i believe they were shiny chrome balls when they were new
with the unfortunate jap design, these are not replacable like the landrover type
the only fixes i have seen on the net is to use some steel epoxy to rebuild the surface
has anyone tried?

You should learn to use image tabs to save us from opening everything via a link.

They’re fine. Sand smooth and rebuild.

On terribly pitted one's I've used JB weld, then sand them smooth. Works well.
Yours don't look too bad (from the pic anyways).
As Mr. G says, looks like just sand smooth and rebuild.

I have seen others use an epoxy paint to achieve a smooth surface. I don't know what the longevity of that method is.

They were never chrome, they were just painted. Lots of 40 series landcruiser guys do as Lebowski says, steel epoxy to fill in any pitting and then a coat of a hard paint like POR15 or KBS rust seal.

i think locktitle also sell a similar product - epoxy weld, but yeah same idea
