Before I start tearing into things.... I'm not getting front drive.
Front diff 100% works, (and it's NOT an air operated centre)

4hi 'pops' out of gear and into 2hi.

4 Lo only gives drive to rear wheels as lo.

Could it be anything obvious/easy? Or is it new transfer time?

Also, will any transfer from any auto GV fit? Or is it only early 98-2001 models?

So... Next question.

Can anyone confirm if the transfer from late model 02/03/04 auto already has the fixed/updated gears and will bolt into a 1999 auto 2.5l with no issue.
Or do I hope that gasket goo on an early one is a hint that it was recalled/fixed?

Shifter circlip came out with the oil.

Likely culprit as to why it wouldn't engage.

Any clues as to why it could of broken?
