| Post subject: | GV Uneek bar recovery hooks |
So due to my dislike of shackles I want to fit a pair of hooks to the top of my uneek bar for light snatch recoveries (stock google pictures below) ![]() It'll be bolted through the top, as close to the chassis mount as possible (very close to directly above the triangle punch out in the bar) ![]() Before I go ahead and do it.... I figure I'll give the internet hero's here a chance to shoot me down, and hope for some sensible discussion hidden in the middle. |

I wouldn't do it. There's lots of leverage being applied to the mounts when you're recovering from up there. It's also not s great place to apply recovery load to the car - you want to be lifting as you're pulling, so the lower the recovery point the better. If the problem with shackles is safety based, buy or make some soft shackles. |

Do the dyneema shackles stand up to being pulled against square laser cut edges? Can always taper/round them out I guess. |
