Grand Vitara, year 2014, 3 door. The remote buttons to unlock and lock the doors on both keys need to be pressed a number of times, hoping one of the times it's pressed will work. New batteries in both keys. I've read other topics which suggest a fault with the door sensing switches can be the cause of this. The inside light always works ok with the door operation. Thanks for any suggestions? |

Do the power locks work properly from inside the vehicle (driver's door controls) - if they do that would eliminate door sense switches as a potential cause of the problem. |

Yes, they work ok. |

I'd say either the remotes or the receiver is defective - I'm betting on the remotes. |

It would be odd for both keys to have the exact same fault. |

You might think so, but, consider this - which button on the key gets pressed the most? Is it the same button on each key? Do the buttons wear out? |

The buttons that get pressed the most are the two on the key that's in use. The other key is usually left at home as a spare. |

Thanks for following this up. I've been away on a few kayak trips. It was the "new" batteries I purchased on eBay. |
