Bought second hand, gave it a bit in the soft sand to test her (smashed it!) and during clean up noticed it had chewed through the coolant - I refilled reservoir but still chewing through it and can't find any leaks anywhere, no movement in the temp gauge - very worried... I have read on other forums that the Renault engine is a "timebomb" waiting to happen. All comments greatly appreciated |

One thing I've noticed on mine is how quickly the temp can spike when driving hard. I put a scan gauge in mine and it is quite dramatic at times. And the factory gauge never moves from the same position. I do have a bull bar which definitely makes the car run slightly warmer. What coolant are you running and have you mixed them? |

I recently had a coolant loss in the wifes NGV diesel, and turned out to be a thermo housing had started to disintegrate and broke the rubber gasket. But more interestingly while looking for the leak, and moving/looking around water pipes one of the plastic reducers(Yes there are about half a dozen plastic reducers that change the pipes sizes.) broke in half fairly easily. Shooking my head. But yes I will have to agree with what I hear/know these engines are very temp, so if theres a problem, get on top of it quick. |
