Hi Guys, Has anyone fitted a snorkel to their 2009-> GV? Several of the kits i've seen just contain a flexible hose from the snorkel to the airbox while overseas kits have a two-piece molded plastic airbox tube. Anyone happy with the quality of their kit? which brand did you go with? |

I haven't found anything great, only the usual ones for the 3.2, 2.6, or 1.9 that require some mods to make it fit the airbox of the 2.4 (e.g., Safari, sherpa). I gather from the lack of responses to your post that nothing really falls into the 'great' category. Its a shame because this has been something that I wanted to eventually get done as well. |

After checking the models – the V6 (jb627w) and the 2.4 (jb424x) use the same air filter. The bottom half of the airbox looks identical – the top half is different. The intake hose fitting is same 13825-65J00-000 VS 13825-65J00-000 I cannot get a specific part number for the base to cross-check BUT it appears that the V6 snorkel kit should fit the 2.4 better than the jb419 (fingers crossed) |

Nice checking. Posts here generally indicate some additional fiddling was needed - which I am not adverse to, but did put it in the 'I'll get around to it' category. Please let us know how you go if you proceed. |

1.6L 4cyl + 2.0L 4cyl + 2.7L V6 + 3.2L V6 + 1.9L D lower half of air box is same. 2.4L 4cyl air box has a different angle on the inlet. Safari do a great snorkel - originally developed for 1.6L + 2.0L & 2.7L V6, as these were the engines the NGV was originally released with. Suzuki in their wisdom changed the air box for the 2.4L 4cyl. Safari haven't remolded the complicated huge hose which links the snorkel duct to the air box. Can be made to fit with an 'adapter' made from pumped up exhaust tube, cut on compound wacky angles & welded back together. Easiest thing to do is buy an air box from anything other than a 2.4L. Even then, is the 2nd worst Safari snorkel to fit (JK Wrangler takes the dubious 'win' for worst). Rgs, Michael |

Rgs, Michael so would a 1.6L or 2.7L air box base will mount to the 2.4L top? the 1.6, 2.0. 2.7 and 1.9 all use the same air filter ryco 1588 the 2.4 and 3.2 use a bigger air filter ryco 1766 |

I'd buy the whole air box from the 1.6, 2.0 or 2.7 & change ther filter requirement to the A1588 part. The 3.2L & 1.9D, while the right shape at the inlet, have a different top. Rgs, Michael |
