ill be driving my maruti somewhere and all of a sudden it stalls and the wont start again for ages iv replaced fuel filter but im not sure if its a pump issue? or carby

Could be ignition. Sounds like something a faulty Condensor will do when it overheats.

Basic troubleshooting 101...

1 - Check spark - pull a plug/plug lead, hold it to a cylinder head bolt and crank the engine.
2 - Check fuel - spray starter fluid (or a small amount of fuel) into the intake whilst cranking the engine.
