I've recently discovered that theres multiple Chinese companies manufacturing brand new engines for some reason. Mines clapped out and i don't see the sense in rebuilding a 35 year old engine, would one of those bolt into a 1.0l, it looks like some bits might need to be switched out for sierra parts to physically fit it in the engine bay. Surely someone here has tried one. |

Chinese motors are for carry vans so the dizzy drive gear is cut the other way so you either have to swap the gear or the whole cam to run a Sierra dizzy housing other than that it's all straight forward. I think 2 members on here have bought them and a couple of people on facebook too. I haven't heard anything bad but there's not much first hand info out there. It'd be more now (dollar weakness) but when I priced them up a couple of years back the cheapest was about $800 delivered for a long engine. Crazy cheap! |
