Hi, anyone on here fitted a 1.6 swift engine to a jimny automatic box ?
Will the box take the extra power, was there any problems.
Cheers Greg

Hi Greg,
Welcome to Auszookers!.
No, I haven't done the conversion.
The collective wisdom is likely to be, that the Jimny auto is at it's limits with the standard G13BB.
There are plenty of instances of damaged autos. Some of that may be due to new to 4WDriving owners forgetting to shift into low range when tackling steeper sections, but regardless, there is little safety margin / headroom in the working parameters of this box.
Putting a 1.6 in front of it, is going to markedly reduce its ability to lead to a long & happy life.

Or M13A - there is no practicable difference in the auto behind either.
The Swift 1.6 would be from an EZ sport?

it works but you are going to want to install a external transmission cooler at the very least.

Trans temp gauge is massively important along with as much cooler as you can throw at it.
Also make sure the car is properly geared and don’t lug the car in high range. You’ll soon see the huge spike in trans temps as soon as it starts slipping.
