Anyone experienced this before??

In the wet weather last week I was having some slippy fun times with the locker on. Disengaged it before reversing up my driveway, and then the other day went for a spin and it's still locked.

I have:
- Undone the solenoid
- Cleaned the brass filter
- Turned it off and on MANY times
- Undone both fittings on the diff in case there's a blockage there (there wasn't)
- Done all sorts of figure 8's and throttle blips

Any ideas how to get it to unlock??? lol

Have you tried jacking the car off the ground? If there's any wind up on the axle the locker might bind and not move until the stress is released.

Never even crossed my mind - I'll give it a crack and report back =)

No effect... Went back and forth a bunch, jolting it and moving it gently and still locked.

Older style locker - broken tabs on the plastic piston inside the locker?

This 100%, happened to mine. Permanently locked on when it happened.

Booooo.. Maybe

Advice I've been given from an ARB fitter is to try blow out the metal tube in the housing and see if that frees it up as it might be full of oil... He's seen that happen a bit apparently.

Assuming if it's the plastic tabs, the whole centre has to come out?

Yes, diff out. Not even sure if you can still get the piston

@tanshi - did you ever do it?

The plastic ones are still available according to ARB, but if I can future-proof it with alloy that'd be awesome.

Though, the current rear locker is from 2008 so it has done rather well haha

Oh right, yeah I suppose that'd be the only way??! it'll be interesting if the replacement plastic part is made any differently to the old one.
