| Post subject: | Brake Master Cylinder Advice - Sierra |
Hi All, I'm in the process of swapping WT diffs into my NT LWB Sierra. The rear diff I'm swapping in has an ADD full float with rear disc brake kit installed. My NT LWB has discs on the front and drum brakes on the rear from factory with the standard NT brake MC. I have a Brake Master Cylinder from a WT and it is different to the NT MC. My question is, can I run the existing NT MC, or do I need to swap the WT MC in to make the brakes work and bite properly. Or do I need to go down a different path like swapping in a Subaru Forester MC? Any help is appreciated. |

of interest, what calipers is it running and I'm guessing you are still running transfer hand brake? |

My 2C - put a Forester 15/16" MC in it and call it good. There's no functional difference between the NT and WT M/C, it will work with rear discs but you'll have a fairly low pedal. |

The rear is an ADD full float, so whatever brakes are used with that kit. It’s all 2nd hand out of a parts zook i bought. Yes, still running transfer handbrake. A mate has a spare Forester MC, so after lockdown i’ll go that option. Thanks for your help. |

I've googled the code, but I can't confirm if it's the one you've recommended? Can you please help Steve? It's out of an SG Forester 2002-2008 I believe... ![]() ![]() Also, with the Forester MC, do I swap the whole unit in (MC and booster) or do I just fit the Forester MC to the Sierra booster? This is my first time ever fiddling with brake setups... Thanks for your help. |

Look underneath the frontmost outlet, the diameter is cast in. Atmo foresters are 15/16” and gt’s are 1 1/16”, which will give a higher, harder pedal. |
