The identity of the car, and therefore it's year of manufacture and critically ADR compliance, is it's chassis #. You'll need to talk to a roads authority approved engineer (not sure how it works in TAS for approval of modified vehicles.) Generally, both chassis and body need to meet the same ADR's and take into account any ADR changes between the years. But, why do you have to declare it? swap bodies and build tags from the 82 body to the 93 body and call it good. Only a suzuki trainspotter would pick the swap, and it's not like the end result is in any way dangerous- it's a safer car. So your path forward depends on whether you're concerned about having all the paperwork ticked for something nobody is never really going to care about. I'm sure you're aware the body bolts adjacent to the seatbelt mounts on the tunnel won't line up, and the body studs will be too long. |

You'll need to redrill the chassis crossmember to line up with the newer floor stud layout, and run a die nut up the body mount studs to cut some more thread onto them. |

I didn't know about the studs but that would be no worries i would consider just putting the early tags on the body. Thanks for the information cheers Jack jr |
