I have a jb43 jimny 2005. I wanted to do a 3"-4" suspension lift. Springs are really hard to get in the caribbean, so i was wondering what else I can use. Would the Honda CRV rear springs work?
My advice to you (and for what it's worth, I'm in Guyana, so as Caribbean as it gets) is forget about 3~4" of suspension lift, find out what OME have to fit your car, which is going to be around 40mm (roughly an inch and a half) and then start saving - cheap out at your own risk.
Yes, you can do the junk yard search and find springs that fit and give a lift, but you're going to spend more (especially in time) hunting down and trying stuff - and end up never getting it just right - it will NEVER ride the way it will with springs & shocks designed for the task and tuned to work with one another, and you'll never be really happy with the result. I have OME under my Grand Vitara and really enjoy the ride, I have another brand of springs, from Australia, on another vehicle, with OEM replacement shocks & struts and, well, it is lifted, but the ride is nowhere near as good as it could have been. The only reason that car doesn't have OME under it, is because OME don't make suspension for it.
If you can't or don't wan't to pony up the pennies for OME, get a decent kit from BigJimny but don't go near that this spring from that car approach - it'll never work right.
