What's what? I see a picture of what appears to be a 16v G series Suzuki engine - the ignition coils suggest it's from a Baleno, could be a G13 or a G16 - if that's what you're asking about and you need a more definitive identification, go look for the engine number, should be near the bellhousing. |

Thank you - didn't have time to get the number as it was getting dark before I had to choose to buy it or not and whether it was worth it. It's a G16 but you identified it by the ignition coils - Thanks, now I know. A moot subject really as it's already in and plated since 2013 - just nice to know. Thanks again |

Agree, it's a baleno g16b by the external coilpacks and forward facing plenum. Different type of setup with the fuel surge tank sitting so far up in the engine bay though, i'd be putting a different fuel pump on it, change the fuel lines and remove the tank. |

Ive only ever seen rocker mounted coilpacks on balenos or dizzy type earlier models. The g16b (or just the coilpacks) pictured looks like it may have come out of a x-90 i believe thay ran the coilpacks on the firewall like that It does look like a baleno intake and the thermostat housing would appear to be at the rear of the head. |

Based on the parts catalogs, it appears the X-90s all had distributors. |

google agrees too - couldn't find an engine bay photo of a coil pack motor in an X90. |

Anyone seen a baleno with that coil arrangement ? |

| Post subject: | Re: What could it be? |
Yep. Pretty common. In a baleno they’re mounted to the head above the cam angle sensor. |

Yeah ive seen them mounted on the rocker cover in balenos but only ever seen them on the firewalls of x90 |

I hope it's a Di-lithium Crystal Time Dilator Module But labelled ST48019293 it's probably a crappy ECU made for horses circa 1738 shame |

Full engine management system (ems) i used to run them on vl turbo comodoores. About 2k installed and tuned Still reasonably common in aus, most performance shops sell as cheaper option to haltech. |

Ahhh one could assume they must be a crossover model of sorts on the jump from dizzy baleno to rocker mounted coil packs. Much like the 88.5 model sierra |

MrRocky wrote: The software is licensed Tuning shops pay a fair bit of coin for it Unless your very competent in tuning ecu software its not a job for the diy Thanks, understood. As I have no idea of the history, etc. I shall just tear the whole vehicle down and start again. The body needs work and the more I look, the more I shudder. Should I just get a stock ECU and loom to rebuild and get it going, then use the Stinger later if required? The engine is probably cactus anyways and the current 'wiring' is an unknown entity. MrRocky wrote: The software is licensed Tuning shops pay a fair bit of coin for it Unless your very competent in tuning ecu software its not a job for the diy I came accross an old post about G16B conversion harnesses - do you still make them MrRocky? How would I go about finding the correct computer for the engine? |

Nah i dont have time for that stuff these days, people always seemed to try and change my harnesses by removing the fuse box to "improve" it and there car never runs right again then they spend big bucks chasing problems they have created too much hassle
