Dum question out of my running 03 jimny the lower bush is cooked (the one right down the bottom is fine) and upper bush you see in the photo, its definately cooked, just wondering if anyone has changed this upper bush as it looks as if the top of the gearstick which is bigger than the top of the bush is glued on with a resin, not screwed on and its definitely not coming off the bottom without a magic trick. |

Looks fairly dry. I've tried similar on the transfer stick but doesn't come apart easily. I ended up cutting it in half as I wanted to cut/weld it to change the angle anyways. ![]() Your remote shifter housing must be fairly nasty inside? You can remove the plate on the bottom (35) of it to clean and lube it whilst on the car, only need to remove the 4 bolts on the jackshaft to transfer case flange, slide it off the back of the gear box and you should have access to it. You could try heating the gearknob end or just clean, lube and possibly shim it somehow? You appear to be missing a wave type spring washer (25), also check bolt (37), nor the keyway for it are excessively worn/loose. Link to part numbers/supplier. Good luck |
