Hi Guys
I have a WT with 30's and a 1lt transfer. I still would like a bit lower gearing. Question is can i put 4.1s or 3.9s in my Wt axels. Which would give me near as stock gearing on the road ?
Thanks

I run 3.9s in my WT diffs, that should be pretty close i'd say.

NT 3.9 gears or whole centres will bolt into WT housings but 4.1 won't.
If you need more than 3.9 then you can buy aftermarket gears from www.lowrangeoffroad.com or fit vitara 5.12 front gearsets.

4.1's will fit if you get them from a WT maruti. They run 1.3 axles and centres with 1.0L gearing.

you do realise you are only 100rpm different from stock at 100km/h?

3.9's from a NT would take you closest to stock (but you'll be revving 100rpm harder than stock at 100km/hr)

Any other gearset will have cruise revs way high - 3734@ 100km/h with 4.1 diff gears.

OR

you could put 6:1's in the transfer. with no other change, your cruise revs will run 3587, but your crawl will go from 34:1 to 88:1

Steve.
