Guys, for those in the know...

I've got a 5dr '93 LWB Vitara with a 50mm BL + Suspension lift and running 30" tyres...

I'm wondering if there is anyone running 16" rims and a 245/75/16 tyres on their SE416 Vitara and if so, what (if any) sort of mods have u done to run them?

Do they rub under full flex (up/down)?

What rim offset?

These 245/75/16 tyres basically work out to roughly 30.5" tyres and roughly the same width as the 9.5R15 (30") tyres...
Just like like to hear from others of their experience in running these size tyres?

SWB has a 31x10.5. and no body lift. slightly larger than 245/75/16 on paper. But physically sometimes the same.

-13 offset.

bump stops from JWB and some hammering and flattening of seams was needed, nothing major.
Due to body lift you may not need this. Flex it and see.

I believe 31" is on the absolute cusp where gearing is needed if your driving steeper stuff. along with aftermarket arms (calmini/4art/etc)

I do have reduction gears already so that’s not a problem.

I remember trialling 31” tyres years ago and they rubbed quite bad back then but I cannot remember if I had the BL installed at that point in time…

Body lift does not make a substantial difference to where the tyres will rub as the contact points are basically vertical. (The seam behind the inner guard liner on the firewall.) this seam will need to be flattened. Less rim offset reduces this problem but results in more contact between the tyre and chassis at full lock.

I would try GV or XL7 rims

I recently purchased a 1993 Vitara that came with what I think is XL7 16" alloy rims. At first look, I thought they would be good but upon closer inspection, they have a 25P offset which really puts them too close to the springs, etc. From my calls, I think a rim with a 10P should be spot on.

GVs are a +5 offset.

Well, I don't know what these Rims are off... I thought they were off a XL7, but anyhow they definitely are a 25P offset which causes rubbing issues

They're from a V6 Vitara which are definitely 25P.

The bumpstops and hammering are what’s fitting the tyres. Suspension lift doesn’t have anything to do with tyre clearance.
