Loved the Carry since I saw it on MCM, jumped on the opportunity to work on one, just a farm ute not registered still a cool little unit you don't see every day you know. So I'm working on it
It needs some love, Biggest thing is it doesn't have an alternator at all, I have found a heap of G13BB ribbed belt alternators 1999-2005 so I'm just going to have to work out which one it is, I have measured the space it has to go in, but I'm not seeing a lot of dimensions in listings, So I'm going to trial an error it, I know that's going to give Repco the shits, but it's in the name of science.
I'm going to start with the:
https://www.repco.com.au/parts-service/electrical-parts-vehicle-management/alternators/oex-alternator-12v-130a-denso-style-dxa590/p/A9449815?rgfeed=true&cid=google-shopping&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc®ion_id=100338&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiApOyqBhDlARIsAGfnyMo4miVyH4dltw9Z2PrVcVl3wcxLw04UT8jIG-CfoZRjafNYe5abby0aAo3MEALw_wcBIt's Denso unit, the mounting brackets look pretty right so that's what I'm trying first and it's probably the cheapest one. Bonus that Repco have them so not far to go to return it if it's no good.
The battery still wont charge because it never goes very far so I'll fit a solar panel to it and trickle charge it. Last thing is the rear windscreen which I'm going to do out of UV2 polycarbonate. Just because the price is right and it would help if it was weather sealed. I know I'll find more problems as I go.
I just wanted to document the process just in case someone else ever needs the info, couldn't find anything very helpful so I thought I would make it.
Edit file sizes for my images are all to big so I'll have to edit them down to post them which I'll do tomorrow.
