Hey,

I'm having some trouble with my 2001 M13A Jimny fuel injected. The engine revs will drop to below idle breifly after coming to a stop from driving making the car vibrate and then come back to normal idle and remain there.

The Kms are low with only 100k on the clock, and i've investigated all the possibilities IAC, MAP sensor, Coolant Sensor, Air temp sensor, etc.

Lately i think i may have linked the problem to the brakes. When you brake (even when stopped) the revs will die down below idle. It doesn't happen everytime you touch the footbrake but about 7 times out of 10 it will and gets worse if you are on and off the brake repeatidly quickly. Also problem appears to be worse when the engine has just reached temperature and is idling at 700 but gets better the longer you drive.

This really has me stumped, but if anyone has experienced this or can help i'd appreciate it.

Cheers,
Luke

sounds like you may have a problem with your brake booster

I've performed the brake booster test in the FSM and the booster appears to be holding pressure when the engine is off and as there is no loss of brake force i don't think the booster itself is the issue.

Could be a air leak, but i've been all over the engine bay and can't find one.

Could be a coincidence that the issue occurs when braking, as i think the issue will happen 7 times out of 10, when the idle is just coming back to 700 after it has been higher for a while (not just a throttle jab). Once it settles on 700 after it does its thing, the idle is solid with no drops or surges, but if i hold the revs high again for a bit and then let it come back to idle it will do it again.
