I fitted a Hayman Reece towbar on no problems but despite them saying it would fit a 3 or 5 door they neglected to mention that the supplied harness won't. I've tried every which way to fit it, but the power supply to the battery is too short, the connections don't fit well as there are two connections on the harness but 3 on the vehicle, and there's no way to fit it in the cabin, the floor plan of the 5 door is very different from the 3 door.
I'm thinking I'm going to have to seal the harness ecu water tight, and mount it under the bumper, then I might run a twin core from the battery back to the harness. But if I had gave known this to start with then I would have bought a different tow bar.

No joy, there's no way to get the wiring harness to work, my advice is if you have a 5 door then don't buy one, go genuine. I'm returning or selling this one and doing just that because this won't work at all.

Have you considered contacting Hayman Reece?

Doing that today, same with oz jimny, but I definitely think I will get a factory one fitted so the wiring is correctly done.

I’d put money on the factory towbar being supplied by Hayman Reece

Just got contacted by oz jimny, great service as usual, they will be sending me out a suzuki factory harness so it will be fixed eventually. Probably works out better this way, but it's just going to take a lot longer.

Well after a 2 month wait, and only after I noticed that they are now sell the tow bars with genuine suzuki wiring harness and an a request to either send the right harness or pick up the tow bar and refund my money I finally got the right harness. It's been installed and is working so that sorry saga is finally over. Now to find a ute tub rack to fit the trailer and I can mount the roof top tent on the trailer and be ready for some adventures.

No the 3 door harness was the problem but now there is a suzuki factory 5 door harness that solved the problem.

It’s frustrating that the Hayman Reece setup wasn’t clear about the 5-door compatibility, but at least you’ve got it working now. Hopefully, the rest of your setup, like the ute tub rack, goes smoother so you can finally enjoy those adventures.

The worse part was when I bought it they said it would fit, but they only tested the tow bar, and didn't test the loom. But it's all sorted and working well now.
