Guys... for those in the know... Is the front Timing Cover on a 1.6ltr the "same" as the 1.3ltr? If they are not the same, then would anyone have a 1.6ltr Front Timing Cover lying around that they are happy to part with? My son's little SWB 1.6 Vitara requires a replacement front timing cover as the Balancer has appeared to have damaged the cover. (BTW: he also needs a new Harmonic Balancer as his is starting to come apart) thanks in advance |

The 1.6 block is taller than the 1.3 to accommodate the longer stroke, so the 1.6 cover is also longer. Generally speaking as the long as the cover can be bolted on so it doesn't rub, it can be used, what you're trying to do is keep sticks & stones out of the belt area, the cover doesn't really seal anything in. |

Thanks for that… but balancer has actually worn holes in the cover and I’m concerned that if/when my son takes it on the beach that there’s a high chance sand, etc will get in there and cause damage to the new belt. The cover is properly bolted down so I assume from looking at the balancer that it’s on its way out. |

I bought a new timing cover from suzuki for my G16a. It was pretty cheap, maybe $80 but that was a few years ago now. |
