Post subject:  URGENT HELP! Twin Cam Efi Gti motor URGENT HELP!!!!!!

I have the motor in the hole but the dizzy cap wont go and the thermostat housing hits the body!!! Ive done a 3 in body lift but need to do something to solve this proble!!!!!

i don't know about the dizzy cap or thermostat housing, but i do know regency aren't going to like a 3" body lift....

have you had a search for gti conversions on here?

its already regod so unless i get defected it wont matter!!!! ive done a search but it doesnt seem to help me out a great deal! apparently a mazda 323 cap and rotor button solves the proble but it didnt unless i got the wrong one.

There is shitloads of info on here about the GTi conversion.

You probably have the wrong dizzy cap and you will have to do something about the thermostat housing.

did you click on that thread i posted, it says you need a - Mazda 1986-89 (not 1990 and above) 323 GTX 1.6L Turbo Distributor Cap AND rotor button.

Or unless you hit someone and they decide it was because of the higher COG or a change to your handling characteristics and your insurance becomes void...

what series motor is it? Mk1 dizzys need some sort of angle drive Mk2 and Mk3 motors need a mazda 323 gtx dizzy cap

And a W022A thermostat housing(from what I can recall,mitsubishi housing),or there is the suzuki swift cino thermo housing from the carby SOHC swift(Apparently perfect fit!!!!)

I ended up modifying the original housing and gettin it welded(ripp off!)

but will all this work with the 3 in body lift??? it looks like the dizzy cap will hit the heater hose outlets!

I guess it's possible, in which case you're probably going to be on your own because there aren't a lot of people that run a 3" body lift these days. Honestly the best thing you can do is get rid of that bodylift, or at least drop it down to 2".

ditch the body lift sounds like your plan of attack, 3 inch is to big anyways
