Hey Everyone, I'm new on here, I've got an old lj81 that I've been using on my lifestyle block in Canterbury NZ, it's a bit rusty but not bad for its age. I use it as a workhorse for gathering firewood and spraying gorse but love using it on my tracks, my place is on the foothills so a bit hilly.
It smokes like a barstard, surprises me how much smoke a 800cc motor can make, otherwise runs great..
My dilemma is that yesterday I brought one of those Chinese f10a motors, fuel Injected with all the add ons to put in my old Zook, looking at it its not an easy fit with all the injection bits, and I'd love to keep it Injected just for the ability up hills.
im sure there have been a few people do this conversion and I'd be appreciative of any tips on which direction to go with this.
Cheers

I'm not aware of anyone who has done this. I assume the engines don't come with a loom/ecu?

The engine has ecu, loom , 5speed, alt and starter but it's meant to go into a van and everything is on a lean, there's no room for the starter under the inlet manifold so it won't easily bolt to the lj gearbox. I'd need to get an upright manifold to get the starter to fit and then the crank angle sensor will clash with that too. The 5 speed should have a lower 1st gear which would be useful but it's never going on the road again so I don't really need more gears. I can just bolt all the carb, distributer, sump onto it and run like that but seems a waste to not use the injection.
