Some people say extended shackles are the work of the devil. I believe they have their uses.... IF you do a RUF, mini RUF, fit longer springs or if you move the shackle chassis mount then there are big benefits to be had. |

my opinion- unless you match them to a longer spring and get a correct shackle angle it will just make you car ride worse. I dont belive they are worth the money other wise |

If you want it for lift, there are better options. Like 33s ajsr said, unless they suit longer springs, they are not great. Oh they are illegal in most states too, unless engineered... |

i have 2" extended shackles with a 2" lift, NO RUF OR ANY OF THAT FANDAGLED STUFF and my car rides just as it did before i put them on, plus it gave me a hell of alot more ride height just removed my sway bar and am keen to go out bush as soon as i get back from my holiday |

i have extended shackles on the front, i have longer springs and i only put them on to level my car out. so for me the pro's are my car sits levelish and the cons are it steers like a very large boat and tramlines quite badly. |

hehe, they are unengineerable! I was told to take mine off and throw them out. The only case I know of is a certain yellow LWB on 35s that has been engineered with lux axles and longer shackles... |

yeah i'm surprised by that. I thought everyone loved them. That must have been just 2 two years ago maybe, and now everyone that's had them is taking them off. |

Can you explain how you ran without any shackles? |

wouldnt run em to gain height. I have longer springs. With stock shackles, the springs pushed the shackle up against the chassis. With 35mm extended jobs they gave me perfect shackle angle. Only reason i run em really. Cons; -illegal -Cause more side to side flex in the spring. (my mates 31s rubbed on his springs at full lock, before he fitted 2" ext shackles. Thats how much the springs started to move left to right under steering with them!) -Worse approach angle |

I have only had my zoom a short time I have had * 2" springs 2" body 2" shackles = shit, wrong angles to rough * 2" springs 2" body = good angles smoother better flex * 2" body standard springs and spoa = love the ride flexes well, only shocks holding it back Alot of wasted money on a cheap run around do it once do it right. |
