| Post subject: | Injector issues G16B Early Vitara engine |
Hi guys. Not sure if this is solve able. Just finished rebuilding an early G16B (early with rocket shaped air meter) for my son’s SJ80. This engine was rooted, so bored out 50th, new head..pretty much everything is brand new even the CDI unit and Dizzy.. On start up it blows a lot of smoke. When you smell that smoke its very rich (fuel content). To me it seems that the fuel injectors are not holding fuel line pressure . When it warms up there is still a bit of smoke but again just seems to run a bit rich. Now the only thing i have not replaced are the fuel injectors. They are pink denso ones with part number 195500-2400. I ordered another set and i received Yellow INP-470. Fitted those and the car runs terrible, doesn’t want to idle and has issues revving. Put the pink ones back in and it runs fine. Now and please correct me if i am wrong but this is what i have found out. 195500-2400 are 400cc injectors (not available in Australia. Denso does not have that part number on file when i called them) looks like that also run them in RX7s and other cars. INP-470. Are 170cc injectors. Baleno, X90 …. So help is needed pretty please. How do i solve this issue? Can anyone contribute any other info. |

My G16B injectors (1992 Vitara) are also the pink ones. I purchased rebuild ones from 4wd Part Shop (Suzi Store). Couldn't find new ones at the time. |
