Hi guys, forum noob here. I have a 2010 Jimny with 310,000km on it, motor is probably on the way out, has overheated a couple times. I let it go out of rego in a remote area the last time, got a new radiator hose and it runs again now but advice from the mechanic is dont push it on long remote trips anymore. I dont know whether to sell it un-regoed or get a new motor. Note Im not a mechanic or DIY guy at all, Im good at guns but when it comes to cars, changing tyres is about it. I heard baleno motors or something else more common can go into it? Being I'd have to get the whole job done by a mechanic or shop( no time or interest myself and thats not going to change) is it worth doing cost wise? Anyone guess at the cost? Im in North and Central QLD for the record. If not any idea what price to put on it for sale as is? Thanks for any replies. |

You got a few options. Is it a VVT jimny, or a Non VVT? there is a crap ton of info on this forum: https://www.auszookers.com/forum/viewto ... 17&t=30308 and here: https://nomadic-escapade.site/suzuki-ji ... gine-swap/ If your a VVT: m15a - (Suzuki Swift) m16a - (suzuki Swift Sport) M18a - (Suzuki Liana) If you want simplicity, m15a is the way to go. m18a is quite tricky to get running efficiently/properly on a m13a ecu. If your a Non-VVT: Non VVT M15a from a 2001-05 Holden Cruze and some Suzuki Ignis Non VVt m16a from a suzuki Liana You can also convert m18as to non VVT. Hope this helps. you could also always swap in a used m13a... they come up quite cheap on fb marketplace because everyone just upgrades to bigger ones. I dont know how much it would cost for someone else to swap it in. If I were you, I'd have a crack at it yourself. There is a crazy amount of information around, and there are so many people willing to help and answer questions on here. |

M18a will run fine on m13a ecu and changed to non vvti. I changed one and still own it today. |
