I have been looking into welded diffs, i have seen people just weld the gears together and also put a small piece of plate in there to, i was wondering what was the strongest way to weld it? |

If you must weld a diff (which I wouldn't recommend) then do it this way...

I have done it that way. Its ok at 1st, then starts ratcheting and wears out the pin holes eventually waiting for a pin to dropout and/or smash gears = no good. Maybe ok for the front. But not rear. My rear is/was solid now. (my rear diff is totally fooked now from locked on 33's + snapped axle) |

tom, go to the d4x4 ramp day and i will give you a drive of mine so you can see how good gearing is. until you fix your gearing your diffs are going to be consumables. |
