Does anyone know anything about them as im having problems with the one in my girlfriends lwb
it wont idle normally it fluctuates then stalls and carrys on like a 2 bob watch. And when backing off after high rpm it feels like the throttle closes really slow and revs slowly decrease then idles at about 1500-1700 and i cant seem to be able to adjust it.

The symtoms sound like a vacuum leak, usually they are a trouble free engine with a simple and effective carbie, in the US they often use a K carbie mounted backwards on a Sierra manifold, they are the same stud pattern. However if the carbie is off a later model or an import they had a lot of extra hoses, vacuum lines and polution gear that usually are blocked off, one of those could be your problem. Also check carbie, manifold etc is tight and sealing properly.

I agree, the manifold`s come lose . Idle circuit could could be blocked to,

The manifold is tight and sealed as is the the carbie.Iis there any way to test for a vacuum leaks?
Would i be best to pull the carby back off and blow it out?

to test for vac leaks start the engine and spray water or degreaser at the base of the carby and at the hose conections. if engine idles up or down or stalls then you have a vac leak.

Yep that's the way, try a bit of detergent in the water it reduces surface tension and makes the water stick a bit better.
