My horn won't work. Checked fuse and there is power on both sides of fuse. No power at horn and no continuity from horn back to the steering wheel earth. Is there a relay and if so, where the bloody hell is it? I do have a copy of the wiring diagram but I'm not a very good electrician so any help would be appreciated.

Replaced your rag joint lately? There is a spring that goes through the middle of it that i'm pretty sure is used the ground the steering column to the steering box. If that spring is missing I don't think your horn will work.

There is no relay in the standard circuit for the horn.

Don't know if rag joint was changed before I bought car, Damo. Did a continuity test across joint and there is a connection so I assume that the spring is fitted.

What sign language will QLD Transport accept. All my signs are too rude.

Check that the horn itself is working. When I got my drover I didn't think the horn was working period then I heard this tiny sound ringing.. there was dirt & grim in the horn where the rubber is.

Tested horn straight off battery. Works fine.

According to the wiring diagram, the hazard lights are powered from the same wire downstream of the fuse and they are working. It must be a short somewhere in the loom between the wire junction and the horn. Going to try run a new wire straight from the fuse to the horn.

Had this problem in my 89 sierra. Turned out to be the contacts in the steering column (under the horn button). They had oxidised after not being used for so long. Try holding the horn in and turning your wheel from side to side to see if it only works at certain points. To fix it just give the contacts a light sand and a little wd40 to keep em clean. Hope this works

Found the problem. There are two main loom connection plugs, one under the steering wheel and another up beside the glove box on the left hand side . Both the horn wires go through the glove box plug and both had dirty connections.
