Im looking at buying a second hand set of simex centipedes off a fellow auszooker just have a question about them i know they are great off road and i have heard nothing bad about them.

How do they wear? they are about 60% how long can i expect to get from them the car is not a dd but does get driven on roadfairly often and it runs a lock right in the rear.

how long have you had your tyres shep how well do they wear? im not worried about noise just interested to know how long i can expect from them roughly

They are noisy on road. Wear very slow if its not a DD. even if it was DD unless u have lockrights or welded they will also be slow. Sierra weigh nothing. Rob from nbs used to use these on road and off on his DD with flipped rims so he would be a good person to ask. I used to drive mine onroad alot and all it did was rounded the lugs.

I really don't like Coopers!! My Pede's aren't wearing that fast at all, in fact they get more dust on them sitting in the shed here at work

I have them and they are not loud. Although once they are full of mud they are much like any tire.

I have 32" x 9.5" x 15R pedes on mine.

Find the on road handling and stability a little cruddy compared to my stock road tyres.
The high side profile of the tyre wouldnt help with lateral stability, neither does the big increase in CoG height.
Also the extra mass, makes the suspension struggle a little bit more, with more unsprung mass.
Brakes also struggle.

In the wet, I find they have less traction than my stockies (Goodyear ATs 28").

The road noise isn't really an issue.

Lets face it, we don't drive zooks for comfort, or their on road handling.

The on road performance is acceptable and off road is great. Providing you are prepared and adjust to their characterisitics I don't see a problem.

I too have a lockright in the rear, and I cringe and corner very carefully on sealed roads. The added torque on diff and axles worries me at times.

on road they have to be at high pressure and why would u use them on road just wears them down so quicky

Thanks for the info fellas just didnt want to waste my money on a set of tyres that will need replacing in a couple of months what would 4 of these go for with about 60% tread and with rims

I paid $600 for 4 with 90%. Don't know if that is a good price or not.

what rims, and what size pedes are they?
Also any idea how old (years), and what condition the rubber is in?

rims are 15x8 with biggest offset off the shelf not sure on the mearsurement the tyres are 31 x i think 10.5 about 60% tread and not sure how old they are

you need to find out how much they are asking...
do your research to find out how much they are new etc, then deduct what you think is fair.

Personally i would consider it, only if they are cheap.

I prefer cheese cutters, i feel 9.5" wide enough and would only go 10.5" if i had to.

hey, my mate runs 36inch pedes on his SAS'd surf and he can't get them to bag properly unless at 0psi in which case they roll off the rim... i think it's 6+ ply to push through... i would bother buying them for any rock application

Yeah i forgot to mention that.
I get pretty much no deflection on mine, no matter what psi I run, and how full the zook is.
