Which is the best transfer case for crawling? I have a 1l and a 1.3l. I notice that a lot of sierras are advertised with a 1l case.

I would love to add one of those transfer cases to my collection :)
Forget the 5% ? Just get reduction gears !
Question ? Do you have to get a 1 litre transfer machined , like the
1.3 ? To fit in reduction gears . If not I'll take the 1 litre ;)
But seriously if yourve got the cash gears!!!!

ok 1 litre xfer is the alternative(cheap) way of goin about gears rather than spending big on aftermarket gears. There are two types of cases.. one with a switch and one without... Aftermarket gears WILL NOT fit into a 1litre xfer if it does not have a shift switch..only a 1.3(and not a coily case) even still machining MAY neede to be done...

The swap(1.3-1litre) is pretty stragiht forward, just a matter of possibly changing a mounting arm and swapping over the flanges/uni to what works. (There is a slight difference between the WT and the NT uni hence the need to swap.)

(im open to correction if there is anyone who disagree's or knows otherwise, personally if I was contemplating this, id go diff gears over xfer)

correction done :) ta shep :D

trans gears will fit in a 1ltr case as long as it has the 4x4 switch.
