I have just registered a 84 SJ40 1lt and spent quite a while looking through the Transport Road User Management Acts, Australina Design Rules and Inspestion Station Rules....im also a cop.

Drop me a pm is you need some advice re those acts and roadworthys, I can also contact Traffic Branch for the harder questions.

I had some probs with mine as the mechanic used a fine tooth comb but I got there in the end.

You have to take your car over to qld transport and have an inspector go right through it. Anything unroadworthy and it will listed on the black list and never be able to be registered again

Go buy some 3rd party insurance from a insurer, drive the car to a licensed examination centre, get it inspected and get a roadworthy.

If you don't pass roadworthy drive straight home. If you do drive to qld transport and pay more money and get rego. The computer will decide if they need to come outside and check the engine/chassis number.

Thats it. Screw your plates on and go driving.

got a mate round the corner to do the RWC and mod plate for ute to wagon and 4 seat to 2 seat.

got my insurance drove it in did all the paper work got my plates screwed them on and drove home
