in my coily the passenger seat doesnt retract when you pull it tightly (as in it comes out as a normal seatbelt does but when u tug excessively it doesnt tighten or halt at all)

so i unscrewed it and opened it up and checked if everythings in place, the lock that opposes the gear had fallen out so i locked it back in and put it back and pulled on the seat belt, it locked once then was all loose again

does anyone know whats going on?

i know nothings broken cause i looked at the drivers one and they look the same from the outside..

looks like a quick fix but ive tried a few times with different results but nevertherless its still loose in the end.

if or when you get new ones, do you want to sell your old ones? i hate the retracting ones i have, they are aftermarket and i can't slide the seat back fully otherwise they hit the seat rail and wont retract or pull out. I just need some to keep Constable Plod off my back.

plus i have harness' for when i'm offroad.

Never heard of that & you pulled em apart, if it was in warranty more than likely thay wouldn`t cover it.

Still worth a try?

If it's true it would be due to a factory recall i'd say so that would be a place to start looking.

I'd say on a coily that the warranty has expired. :(

I wouldn't even bother about a 2nd hand one from a wrecker if you can pick a new one up for $80.00.

as far as i know it is illegal for wreckers to sell seatbelts... although they can be bought for use as tie down straps.

Just digging up an old thread here, Tried to call Autoliv to see if they have any retracting seat belts and their answer was negative.

Should i be asking for a different type of seatbelt? maybe holden drover or something like that?

also has anyone had any experience with the aftermarket seatbelts sold at bursons/autobarn?

Thanks
