Post subject:  Center Ponit Injection on 1600 Carby?

Hi I have a carby 16v 1600 out of a swift and was looking at putting a center point injector off a falcon as well as a turbo.
I know it has been done but cant find any info on appropriate ecu and any pick up points needed or wiring diagrams. I have heard that a mazda ecu can be used but not sure which model. Hopefully someone can shed some light on the topic?

If you're turboing you're probably best off going for an ECU that you can change the fuelling maps on, so you can get the AFR correct across the rev/load range. I know there was a guy on the Sunshine Coast that did a Mazda ECU on a zook engine but i'm not sure how you would go about changing the fuelling with an ECU like that. I have a feeling that it would be a bit of a hit and miss affair, with more misses than hits

There are more and more 2nd hand programmable ECUs around these days which makes it a less expensive proposition.

It was Rhett in Gympie off Outers that fitted a Mazda 121 TBI setup.
He runs it as a blow through setup and has not modded the ECU at all.
He uses a turbo off a Pajero diesel.

I was looking at doing the same sort of blow through set up. A pajero is a 2.8 turbo diesel 4cyl. The turbo I have is off a 2.8 turbo rodeo so it should have similar effect
