i had simillar problems, and its usally a mix of allot of things.
i suggest going through and tightening every nut and bolt in the front end, then adjusting wheel bearings, check the tyre pressures and see how you go from there.
also check wheel nuts, swivel hub bearings, suspension bush's.
you may also need a wheel alignment.

you may need to give us a little more infor on your car and its setup. It can be caused by wheel allignment. wheel balance. incorrect castor. worn bushes etc

Welcome to the death wobbles!!
Things to check:
-Balance all wheels
-Check ALL joints in steering for play
-Check steering box for play
-Check all wheel bearings
-Check swivel bearings and seals
-Check tyres for out-of-round/delaminating etc
There's probably something else I've forgotten but this is a good start.
I did
-Check all suspension bushes and u-bolts (if it's a leafy)

and when you get an alignment tell them to set toe at 0mm. trust, this works.

Joe would this also help with exessive wear on the outside of the front tyres?
as my Sierra has had wheel alignments done to 1mm toe in, essentially everything replaced in the front end (except steering box, which I'm doing ATM), and I still get occasional death wobbles, and too much tyre wear on the outside of the front tyres.

it might, but that can also be a castor/ camber related issue.
