Don't listen to them Shelby they're not helping.

Google differentials and teach yourself.

Try this link. http://www.howstuffworks.com/differential.htm

Don't know what he's on.

This is how it works, tailshaft drives diff pinion which drives the crown wheel gear, it is bolted to a hemisphere, inside the rear hemisphere is 2 side gears these are each driven by either axle, there is also 4 star gears, 2 off them run on the side gears, the other 2 run at 90degrees to side gear but they mesh with the 2 running on side gears. so when axle turns forward, first side gear it turns star gear which is meshed to star gear at 90degrees which then turns the star gear meshed to other side gear causing it to turn opposite direction. Far out that is hard to explain in writing.

PS thats what lockers do lock the axles side both wheel have equal drive and turn the same direction and same revolutions regardless of whether a wheel is off the ground or not.

Yer but it's based around why zuks generate awsome power using the circle spin ratio, of the reverse circlular motion spinning the wheel the other way from the drive shaft. Not how the diff actually works.

I upgraded mine to 5 star gears... Cost a bit but looks much better.
