Gear shift removal help.....

G/day all.
We put a bodylift in my Vitara during the weekend(post some photos soon

).
I trimmed some body work around both gear shifts but it is still not quite right :cry:

I still want to keep my console fitted, so i have decided to remove both gearshifts & bend them so they are not binding up around the body & rubber boots...
I do need some advice help on how to remove both gear shifts..
do i just remove the 2x 12mmbolts each side of the shifts & pull these out...
Do i have to look out for anything on removing these.(springs/clips etc)
Is it easy to refit....

Can i just bend these or do i have to heat these up first :?:

Umm...I don't have a clue, but I think the gear sticks have rubber inside them to dampen vibration. If you heat that up it will probably burn. I could be wrong, but I thought I'd mention just in case...

(my old Poohjero had rubber in the levers)

push down and twist the metal cap inside the gearbox the shifter goes through. can be a PITA first time around.

its alot easier to do from underneath imo
